Literacy

We will be learning about the Holocaust.  The goal of studying this topic aside from learning about history and how NOT to repeat it will be to improve our literacy skills - reading, writing, communication, and media literacy.

November 2016 - Completed Holocaust Journals

October 2016 - We started our novel study… We are reading The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. If you have the movie, please do not watch it yet.

 September 28 – we just finished reading chapter 5 and will take a short break from the novel in order to do a writing exercise. Students will be writing a letter from the perspective of the boy our story to the father and the story to try to convince his father to move back home. Students will learn to write a proper letter, Use persuasive language, and put themselves in someone else's shoes… Perspective.
